The central government has said that there is no evidence to prove former Supreme Court judge, Justice KG Balakrishnan, in a disproportionate wealth case.

The centre informed the court in an affidavit there is no need to remove him as chairman of the NHRC. The Supreme Court is to consider the case on October 17.

The centre said that it came to the conclusion following inquiries conducted in several government departments.

Earlier, it was alleged that the former judge KG Balakrishnan had received money to make favourable judgements in some cases.
