KASARGOD: Former KPCC vice president C K Sreedharan is quitting the Congress party and joining the CPM. The decision of the senior leader of the district is in protest against the stances of the national and state leaders of the Congress party. He responded that the Congress is declining and KPCC president K Sudhakaran is in favor of the RSS.
He said that he is joining CPM without any conditions. Sreedharan was the public prosecutor in the T P Chandrasekaran murder case. When Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan released the book of C K Sreedharan recently, there were strong speculations that he was leaving the Congress party and joining the CPM However, neither the Congress nor Sreedharan responded on the issue at that time.
He said that he will convene a press meet to explain his decision to leave the party on November 17. He said there are many reasons behind it. He said the main reason for leaving the party is the disagreement with the stands taken by the Congress leadership in Kerala on many issues.
Sreedharan clarified that other reasons also drove him to end his relationship with the party. The CPM has decided to welcome Sreedharan at a meeting attended by state secretary M V Govindan Master.
