THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government will conduct a high-level inquiry into the leaked audio of Pathanamthitta district police chief S Sujith Das, who made serious allegations against ADGP M.R. Ajithkumar, who is in charge of law and order. A departmental inquiry has been started while SP Sujith Das took a three-day leave.
After the audio with MLA PV Anwar got leaked to the public, SP Sujith Das arrived at the capital city to meet ADGP Ajith Kumar but was denied permission. Sujith may be removed from the law and order charge and the post of Pathanamthitta SP. It is also reported that ADGP has filed a complaint against SP to the Chief Minister. IPS Association officials will meet CM Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday to request an investigation into the allegations. KT Jaleel MLA also demanded an inquiry into the allegations against the duo.
Sujith Das earlier faced an allegation for cutting a tree from his official quarters while assuming charge as Malappuram SP. In a bid to ameliorate tensions, Sujith Das contacted MLA P V Anwar and beseeched him to withdraw the complaint. However, Sujith Das while getting engaged in a candid talk with Anwar made financial allegations against ADGP and his relatives. The government has received three complaints asking for an investigation into the allegations. The Home Department has clarified that the government will take an appropriate decision in the investigation.
In the audio recording, the SP said he would be indebted to Anwar forever if the MLA withdrew the complaint against him. SP said Ajith Kumar is the most powerful figure in the police and revealed the ADGP’s close connections with businessmen including P Sashi, the political secretary of the Chief Minister.
The SP has also made allegations against ADGP’s brothers-in-law. After the audio recording was released, Anwar posted on social media about ADGP’s unholy nexus with BJP. However, the MLA deleted the post later.
