Celebrities using the social networking medium for leverage, for a wider reach, finds a perfect example in Barbadian singer and performer Rihanna. According to recent reports, Rihanna has managed to become the first ever artiste to reach four billion views on her official VEVO channel on the popular video-sharing platform Youtube.

In June, she also beat Justin Bieber as the Most Viewed Artist on Youtube. As of mid-June Rihanna’s 77 videos on her official VEVO channel reportedly had a whopping 3.7 billion combined views, thereby crossing the total view counts of Bieber’s 79 videos on his official VEVO channel. The difference, a staggering two million views.

The ‘Diamonds’ singer who reportedly had 8.73 million subscribers as of mid-June, has clearly proven that she has a much broader reach compared to any other artiste on the Google-owned video platform.

Last reported, views for other artistes’ were: PSY  with 3.1 billion views, followed by Eminem with 2.4 billion views, Lady Gaga with 2.25 billion views, and Shakira with almost 2 billion.
