Aus wins 3rd ODI, leads 7 match series by 2-1

Australia beat India by 4 wickets in the third one-dayer at Mohali to take 2-1 lead in the seven-match series.
Chasing a stiff target of 304, the Australians rode on James Faulkner’s brutal unbeaten 64 off 29 balls, studded with two fours and six sixes, to dramatically change the complexion of the game and take his side home with three balls to spare. Adam Voges made a valuable contribution of 76 not out from 88 balls.

A very costly over by out-of-form pacer Ishant Sharma who gave 30 runs in the 48th over turned the tide in Australia’s favour after the Indians seemed cruising comfortably.

Earlier, Dhoni produced a magnificent late onslaught and rescued India from a precarious 76 for four to take the score to 303 for 9 after the home side were asked to bat.

His unbeaten knock came from 121 balls with the help of 12 fours and five sixes. Virat Kohli was the other main contributor with 68 runs off 73 balls. James Faulkner was declared man of the match.

The fourth ODI between the two sides will be played in Ranchi on Wednesday.
