Attack on CPM district committee office in Thiruvananthapuram, damages district secretary’s car

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Almost two months after the attack on CPM state committee office, AKG Centre, there has been another attack on CPM office. CPM district committee office in Thiruvananthapuram was attacked at 2 am today.

According to the officials, the gang arrived on three bikes and started pelting stones. The windows of CPM district secretary Anavoor Nagappan’s car, which was parked in front of the office was damaged. He alleged that RSS activists were behind it. Anavoor Nagappan was present in the office at the time of the incident. But he said he heard no sound. Yesterday there was an attack on ABVP office in Vanchiyoor and it created a conflict between CPM and RSS. The district secretary clarifies that the attack is a continuation of this.

Two police officers were on duty at the time of the incident. They ran after the attackers but were unable to catch them. CCTV footage is available but it’s unclear. Police have started an investigation.
