KOCHI: Actress Aswathy Babu and her friend Noufal were arrested yesterday for ramming five vehicles while under the influence of alcohol. This is not the first time that Aswathy has been caught in a drug case. In 2018, the police seized MDMA from the actress.

On that day, the police conducted a search at the actress’ flat on the basis of a tip-off that immoral activities are being done there.

The drugs were smuggled with the help of inter-state bus crews in Bangalore and through the actress’ assistant and driver, who is a native of Kottayam. Earlier, the actress had confessed that she cannot live without drugs even if released.

Sources close to the actress stated that even after this incident, Aswathy was not ready to give up drugs. There are reports that the money for this was found through immoral means. In 2016, she was arrested for using intoxicants in Dubai. Ashwathy Babu is a native of Arattuvazhi in Thumba in Thiruvananthapuram.
