Assam: The Assam government will hold talk with the Joint Action Committee for Autonomous State in Guwahati today.
Joint Action Committee for Autonomous State is a joint forum of 14 organizations demanding autonomous state merging Dima Hasao and Karbi Anglong districts under Article 244.
Official sources said, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi will attend the meeting along with top officials.
The Assam government has already held discussions with All Koch-Rajbonshi Students Union, All Bodo Students Union and Bodo National Conference who are also demanding separate states.
All the three organizations urged government to arrange tripartite talks. Mr.Gogoi will visit Delhi today to meet the Prime Minister on the separate states issue.
18 members of the Joint Action Committee are likely to attend today’s meeting. Karbi Anglong district has witness violent protests recently in support of a separate state.
