Arvind Kejriwal granted bail in liquor policy case

New Delhi: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been granted bail in the liquor policy case on Thursday. The Delhi court has also declined the ED’s prayer to stay Arvind Kejriwal’s bail order for 48 hours.
Special Judge Niyay Bindu granted the relief to the AAP leader on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh.
The judge passed the order after hearing arguments advanced by the prosecution and the defence counsel on Kejriwal’s application for regular bail.
The leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is expected to be released from custody tomorrow because the jail needs to get the bail order first.
His attorney informed the Delhi court that the statements made by those who became supporters of the case formed the basis of the ED’s whole case against the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal failed to get respite in the case pertaining to the now-scrapped Delhi liquor policy of 2021–2022 after the trial court refused to grant him bail on Wednesday.
His custody was extended until July 3. Kejriwal was detained on charges that he was part of a plot to launder funds allegedly obtained as bribes in return for purposefully creating gaps in the liquor policy.
