Anupama files complaint over controversial remarks of minister Saji Cheriyan

Thiruvananthapuram: Anupama and Ajith on Saturday filed a complaint with the Peroorkada police against cultural minister Saji Cheriyan over his controversial remark against the couple.

Cheriyan has stoked controversy by sharing his ‘concerns as a father of three girl children’ and implicitly hinting about the issue regarding the adoption of Anupama’s baby that is in the limelight. Cherian’s remarks were about how some individuals with immoral life shatter hopes of parents having girl children. It also implicitly targeted Anupama’s conduct.

He made the remarks at an inaugural function of a drama workshop for women in the Karyavattam campus. The function was part of the ministry’s ‘Samam’ project.

The remarks have sparked discussion on social media.
