PARIYARAM: Post-mortem report hinted that Anjusree Parvathy (19), a resident of Kasaragod, committed suicide. The post-mortem report said the death was not due to food poisoning and traces of poison were found in her body and this had affected her liver leading to her death.
The report mentioned of rat poison in the form of a paste. It is also indicated that during the investigation conducted by the police, information about the search of rat poison and a note was found on Anjusree’s mobile phone. However, this can be officially confirmed only after receiving the chemical test report.
Meantime, Anjusree’s family demanded that the mystery of the death be removed. Karunakaran, the girl’s uncle said that three people, including Anjusree, developed physical discomfort after eating food. The relatives also demanded that if not food poisoning, then the other causes of death should be found.
Anjusree, daughter of late A Kumaran Nair and K Ambika of Sree Nilayam at Benur in Perumbala, died on Saturday while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mangalore. Her relatives had complained that she died after having food ordered online from a hotel. Following the complaint, the hotel owner and two employees were taken into police custody. They were released after realizing that the girl’s death was not due to food poisoning. The health department and the food safety department had closed the hotel and confiscated the food items. Anjusree was a second-year undergraduate student at Govinda Pai Govt College in Manjeswaram.
