KOLLAM: Ajmal from Karunagappally and Dr. Sreekutty from Neyyattinkara, Thiruvananthapuram, who were accused in the case of killing a scooter passenger in Mynagapalli, were allegedly under the influence of alcohol. They stayed in a hotel in Karunagapally the day before the accident. The police say that both of them consumed alcohol and drugs here and found bottles of alcohol and tubes containing drugs.
There are serious findings against them in the custody application of the police. Police say that at the time of questioning, the accused were drug addicts and both had used MDMA. It is stated in the custody application that both were drunk.
The prosecution told the court that they need to find out the source of MDMA and whether they indulged in illegal activities after consuming the drug.
Meanwhile, Shasthamcotta Magistrate Court released both of them in police custody. The bail application of the accused, who remain in custody till Sunday, will be considered on Monday.
Meanwhile, Sreekutty’s mother Surabhi came forward and revealed that although Sreekutty is living separately from her ex-husband Abhish Raj, they have not broken up. Surabhi told a news channel that the reason behind all the current incidents was her ex-husband and alleged that he trapped her daughter with a criminal like Ajmal. Surabhi said that Sreekutty, who was not yet a drinker, might have been given alcohol in the juice and let the police find out the truth.
