NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is all set for his second edition of Bharat Jodo Yatra. The journey, starting from Manipur on January 8 has been named ‘Bharat Nyay Yatra’. Congress General Secretary K C Venugopal said in a press meet that the yatra will end in Mumbai on March 20 after traveling more than 6,000 km through 14 states. He said the trip is meant to interact with the youth, women and the marginalized.
Rahul Gandhi walked for the entire Bharat Jodo Yatra and this time the journey will mostly be by bus. Will walk only at essential stages. The journey passes through the states of Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, UP, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
The Congress believed that the Bharat Jodo Yatra brought a new awakening to the party. The party believe that the Bharat Nyay Yatra can instill enthusiasm in the party ranks before the Lok Sabha elections and through this they can gain maximum advantage in the Lok Sabha elections. The reason behind selecting Manipur as the starting point for the yatra, Venugopal explained that it holds significance as an integral part of the country.
