KALPETTA: Shattering many hearts in Kerala, Jenson, a native of Ambalavayal, succumbed to his accident injuries on Wednesday. On Tuesday, Jenson met with an accident after a bus collided with his van in Wayanad. He has been in critical condition since then.
The doctors had warned about the seriousness and had earlier admitted to providing all necessary medical care to sustain his life.
Jenson became hugely popular among Malayalees after his interview with fiancée Sruthi went viral across social media. Sruthi had lost her parents and sister in the Wayanad landslides and was forlorn. However, Jenson remained her last ray of hope and promised to be with Sruthi forever. The rare love and commitment won hearts across Kerala and it was to the shock of all Keralites that news came on Tuesday evening about the accident.
“Jenson was brought here around 6 pm yesterday. He had uncontrolled bleeding from his nose. There was also bleeding inside and outside the skull. Despite the doctors’ best efforts, the bleeding could not be controlled,’ the doctor explained.
The accident took place at Vellarankunnu in Kalpetta, Wayanad, when a private bus collided with a van, resulting in severe injuries to Jenson. Nine persons, including Jenson and Sruthi, sustained injuries in the accident.
Jensen and Sruti were in love for a long time. After getting the consent of the family, the engagement took place two months ago. The marriage was in plans. Sruti’s mother Sabita was a former member of Meppadi Gram Panchayat. Father Shivanan was a daily wage labourer. The landslides swept her house situated on Chooralmala school premises. Sruthi’s parents and sister died in the incident. Sruthi was at her workplace in Kozhikode when the incident took place, and was thus saved.
