Kochi: The Crime Branch (CB) probing the 2017 actress assault case on Friday briefed the trial court about the progress of further probe in the case and sought the High Court more time for report submission citing former DGP R Sreelekha’s recent remarks related to accused Dileep.
CB has informed the court that Sreelekha’s statement has to be recorded in the wake of her remarks related to the case that she had made in the video uploaded to her YouTube Channel.
The deadline for the submission of report on further probe is July 15. The CB has requested three weeks time.
It may be also noted that forensic report on memory card containing the visuals of the assault said the hash value was changed thrice. That suggests the card was accessed while it was under the custody of trial court. This is also calls for probe, to find out who and for what purpose it was accessed. The contention of the prosecution is that the visuals were leaked.
The court will consider matter on Monday.
