Jammu: In Jammu and Kashmir Pakistan yet again violated ceasefire this morning by resorting to unprovoked firing on Indian forward posts in border district of Samba in Jammu division. According to a BSF officer, Pakistani Rangers from their Ashraf Post targeted Narianpur Border Out Post (BoP) in Ramgarh forward area in Samba district around 7.45 a.m . Alert BSF jawans retaliated effectively which led to heavy exchange of fire between the two sides which continued for some time.

There was no loss of life or injury to anyone in the firing from Pakistan but in view of the repeated incidents of ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the International Border and Line of Control , troops have been put on maximum alert. Taking note of spurt in the incidents of firing and ceasefire violations, BSF Director General Subash Joshi yesterday visited forward areas along the International Border in Jammu and reviewed the security situation there and gave clear cut instructions to his field commanders to ensure that Pakistan does not succeed in its nefarious designs of pushing trained militants into this side under the cover of ceasefire violations and unprovoked firing on borders.

The indefinite curfew clamped in the aftermath of Friday’s violent incidents in Kishtwar and in various districts of Jammu division including Jammu, Udhapur and Rajouri continued on the third day today. Some relaxation in curfew was given in Reasi, Kathua and Samba districts this morning
