CM ready for talks with endosulfan protesters

Chief minister Oommen Chandy said the government is ready to hold talks with the family members of the endosulfan victims who are undertaking a protest. The CM entrusted the agriculture minister to hold talks. If the protestors are ready for talks, then it could be held today itself, the CM clarified.

The opposition moved a notice for an adjournment motion demanding the government to intervene in the protest. The opposition also wanted the recommendations of the National Human Rights Commission to be implemented.

The notice for adjournment motion was moved by P Kunjiraman. Meanwhile, the strike by Endosulfan Peeditha Janakeeya Munnani, in front of the Cliff House, entered the second day.

Dismiss the Justice Ramachandra Nair Committee report, waiving off the debts, implement the recommendations of the National Human Rights Commission not only in panchayats and various other recommendations were highlighted by the protestors. The strike is being held by 50 people, including 5 bedridden persons, women and children.
