Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today ordered judicial inquiry into Kishtwar clashes. The probe will be conducted by a retired High Court Judge and it will be completed in a time bound manner.

The decision was taken at a high-level ministerial meeting chaired by the Chief Minister in Jammu today.

Earlier, the State Government had ordered an inquiry by the Divisional Commissioner into the Kishtwar violent incidents and promised severe punishment to those found responsible for death and destruction in Kishtwar.

Meanwhile, the indefinite curfew continues in almost entire Jammu province following Friday’s Kishtwar clashes which left three persons dead and several injured.

Barring stray incidents, no major untoward incident was reported from any part of the region since yesterday. However, relaxation in curfew was given in Udhampur district from 7 .30 am till 8.30 am which passed off peacefully.

Army and Police are staging flag-marches and strictly enforcing the curfew restrictions. Kishtwar district continues to be under curfew on the 4th day today with State government making Kishtwar district out of bound for all political leaders.
