ADGP-RSS meeting was not part of official work, but a private visit; investigation report is out

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The investigation report on ADGP MR Ajith Kumar’s meeting with RSS leaders has been placed on the table of the Kerala Assembly. The report was prepared by a special investigation team led by the state police chief. The report states that the ADGP’s visit to the RSS leaders was not part of official work but was a personal visit.

According to the report, the purpose of Ajith Kumar’s meeting with RSS leaders remains unclear. It’s also uncertain whether he avoided his official vehicle because it was a friendly meeting. Only two individuals attended the meeting, and it wasn’t part of any private family functions.

Some media outlets had reported that Ajith Kumar met the RSS leaders to secure the President’s Medal and to get a promotion as state police chief. However, there is no concrete evidence supporting this claim. Conversely, there’s also no proof to refute this speculation. If media reports are true, it’s a violation of service rules, the report stated. The report further stated that the ADGP’s detailed statement has been recorded.

Ajith Kumar’s statement
I met my friend A Jayakumar, an RSS leader, while I was in Thrissur. It was Jayakumar who told me that the RSS leaders were in Thrissur. I then expressed my wish to meet the RSS leaders privately. I went to meet them in a car arranged by Jayakumar. I avoided the official car as it was a personal visit. The meeting lasted for a few minutes.

I had received an invitation to attend a conclave organised by a national media in Kovalam. The former BJP general secretary had also attended that function. After receiving an invitation, I went to Ram Madhav’s room with the hotel manager to watch a presentation on Ayurvedic treatment in the hotel. This was also a personal visit.
