Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Maharashtra on Saturday is set to launch, inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various projects worth Rs 64,580 crore, which include Mumbai Metro-3’s first fully underground stretch.
Prime Minister Modi will flag off the inaugural train service on the first phase — between Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) and Aarey JVLR section — of the Mumbai Metro-3’s fully underground stretch.
The Prime Minister will also hop on for a ride on the maiden train run between BKC-Santacruz stations on the upcoming Aqua Line 3 that will link Colaba-SEEPZ, when fully operational in the next year or so.
Constructed at a cost of Rs 14,120 crore, the first phase is 12.44 km long, on which 48 services in each direction or a total of 96 runs daily are expected to be operated from Sunday.
The section has 10 stations including nine which are subterranean – Aarey JVLR, SEEPZ, MIDC Andheri, Marol Naka, CSMIA-T2, Sahar Road, CSMIA-T1, Santacruz, Bandra Colony and the sole elevated station, BKC.
Prime Minister Modi will also visit Washim and Thane to launch various development initiatives. In Washim, he will offer prayers at Jagdamba Mata Temple and pay tribute to Sant Sevalal Maharaj and Sant Ramrao Maharaj. He will also inaugurate the Banjara Virasat Museum and launch agricultural and animal husbandry initiatives worth Rs 23,300 crore, including the disbursement of PM-KISAN funds and the launch of the NaMo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana.
In Thane, the Prime Minister will inaugurate projects worth over Rs 32,800 crore, including the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project, solar parks, and the Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area project and the Thane Municipal Corporation building. The event will also feature the launch of the Unified Genomic Chip for cattle and the inauguration of several farmer-centric projects under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund.
