THRISSUR: The election campaign of Congress in Kerala will kick start today in Thrissur. AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge will reach Thrissur and inaugurate the Mahajana sabha at Thekkinkadu Maidan at 3 pm on Sunday. Meanwhile, the AICC general secretary in charge of Kerala, Deepa Dasmunsi dismissed any pact with CPM in Kerala and reiterated that it will be a direct fight with the left party this time in Kerala.
The election committee will meet at 11 am in which KPCC office bearers and AICC members will be in attendance. Over 75,000 workers from 25,177 booths in the state, including booth presidents, women vice presidents, and office-bearers from constituency to AICC levels, will participate in the Mahajanasabha. Meanwhile, KPCC’s ‘Samaragni Jatha’ will begin from Kasaragod next Friday.
KPCC Vice President V P Sajeendran said that Mahajanasabha will strengthen work starting from the booth level and placed hope that this could give a fillip to the party for the upcoming elections. General Secretary Adv. K. Jayant and DCC president Jose Vallur were also present at the press conference.
The AICC President will address the office-bearers up to the booth level. Kharge will also inaugurate the distribution of permanent photo ID cards to the booth presidents. KPCC president K Sudhakaran will preside over the function.
