CBI issues notice to Jaihind Channel for details of D K Shivakumar’s investments

BENGALURU: The CBI has issued a notice to Malayalam news channel Jaihind in connection with a disproportionate assets case against Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar. The Bengaluru unit of the CBI has issued a notice to D K Shivakumar and his family seeking information of their investment in the channel. The notice is under Section 91 CrPC. The move is related to a case registered by the CBI in 2020 showing that he had acquired illegal assets during the period 2013-2018.

The CBI notice has also asked if anyone else in Shivakumar’s family has any investments. CBI has also asked the channel for dividend-share, bank transactions, holding statement, ledger account, contract information etc.

Meantime, Jaihind MD S Shiju told media that he has received the notice sent by the CBI. Shiju responded that the CBI’s move was a political vendetta and there was no irregularity in the investments. He added that he would fight the CBI’s move legally and provide all the information sought.
