PR agency wrote Covid-time press conference speeches: Satheesan’s rejoinder to Kerala CM

Thiruvananthapuram: Leader of the Opposition, V.D Satheesan said that the Congress does not intimate the AKG centre before inviting people. CM Pinarayi Vijayan does not need to teach Congress how to conduct elections, he noted. He also alleged that the CM’s 6 PM press conference speech was written by PR agencies.

The CM last week said that the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) invited a “social media expert” to their recent political affairs committee meeting, saying it was an indication of evolving political dynamics in the state. Satheesan’s statement comes at this juncture.

“Sunil Kanugolu was a task force member formed by AICC and a member of a committee that consists of seven prominent Congress leaders including K.C Venugopal. I will not publicise the agency that wrote speeches for the CM when he used to conduct pointless one-hour press conferences during the Covid period. Two years before the elections, PR brought by the Chief Minister reached the gallery of the Assembly,” Satheesan said.

The opposition leader further likened the CM’s comment to a person suffering from cataracts in both eyes saying others have no sight. “What is the big deal if Congress did make use of PR agencies? Which political party in India does not have PR?” Satheesan added.
