Prime accused in fake job scam denies connection with Kerala Health Minister’s personal staffer

Pathanamthitta: The Cantonment police will soon be registering the arrest of Akhil Sajeev, the prime accused in the fake job scam, related to the office of the Kerala Health Minister Veena George. Akhil has been arrested in Theni by Pathanamthitta police.It may be noted that the Pathanamthitta police have taken him into custody for his alleged role in fraud at the CITU office. The case related to the fake job scam has been registered by the Thiruvananthapuram Cantonment police. In preliminary interrogation, Akhil Sajeev is said to have told the police that he holds no connection with Akhil Mathew, who is part of the personal staff of Minister Veena George.

Akhil Sajeev is also rumoured to have confessed to the police that he has not personally met complainant Haridas so far. Meanwhile, he has named Lenin, Basith, and Rahees, as accomplices in the fraud. Akhil Sajeev is known to have accepted money from several people in connection with the fraud.
In the interrogation, it was revealed that Akhil Sajeev had contacted Haridas once over the phone, as per the instructions of Basith and Rahees. Talking about the fraud at the CITU office, the accused stated that he was forced to commit the crime, out of dire need for money. He also claimed to have lost his parents and family. He had apparently projected himself as a failed and depressed man in front of the police.
But, the cops have not taken his statements totally into confidence. Further interrogation on the fake job scam will be done upon the arrival of the Cantonment police.
