ALUVA: Azhak Alam, accused in the rape and murder of a five-year-old girl in Aluva has been remanded for 14 days. The accused was produced by the police at the Aluva Magistrate’s house this morning. After a medical examination, Azhak was shifted to jail. It is informed that the investigation team will file a custody application for the accused. He is intended to be taken into custody for seven days.

Nine sections have been charged against the accused, including POCSO, murder, rape and kidnapping. The case will be heard by the POCSO court. The police concluded that Azhak is the only accused in the case. The child was brutally raped and killed around 5:30 pm on Friday. The child’s private parts and internal organs were injured. The police indicate that the other wounds on the body were caused due to the use of force.

Azhak, who came to Kerala a year and a half ago, is also accused in a mobile theft case. He has been engaged in construction work in various places in Kerala. The accused and his relatives will be questioned.
