ALAPPUZHA: The CPM have rejected Nikhil Thomas in the fake degree certificate controversy. Kayamkulam area secretary P Aravindakshan said Nikhil Thomas has cheated the party severely. While talking to the media, he said there will be an investigation against the youth and if any party activist has helped him deliberately, then action will be taken against them.
Meantime, Kalinga University has initiated proceedings to file a complaint against Nikhil Thomas. The legal cell of the university is collecting documents including addresses for it.After the evidence of SFI leader Nikhil getting admission in Kayamkulam MSM college for M.Com after presenting a fake degree surfaced, the government and the party are on the defensive. It is learned that the CPM leader of Alappuzha, a member of the syndicate, recommended admission to Nikhil in the college. KSU’s allegation is against district secretariat member K H Baburaj.
Nikhil’s fake degree came after former SFI leader Vidya’s fake qualification certificate stoked a controversy. SFI state secretary P M Arsho had yesterday said that Nikhil’s certificate was not fake and that he had passed the exam. However, SFI’s argument fell apart when Kerala University VC Dr Mohanan Kunnummal opened up about how a person with 75% attendance in Kerala University had studied and passed the course in Kalinga at the same time and will examine if it is a fake certificate.
