In Iraq, at least three soldiers were killed and five others wounded today in a suicide car bomb attack on a military base in the western province of Anbar.

Police said the attack took place when a suicide bomber drove his explosive-laden car into a checkpoint at the entrance of an Iraqi army base in central the city of Aana. The base is located some 260 km west of the capital of Baghdad. An army officer was among those killed.
