IDUKKI: A college student died after a tourist bus overturned and fell into a gorge near Thinkalkade. The dead has been identified as Minhaj, a native of Malappuram. The condition of one injured is critical. The bus carrying college students from Valanchery met with the accident. The accident happened around 1.15 am when the students were returning from Vagamon.

The bus lost control on a steep slope and fell about 70 feet down. Locals and the police pulled out those in the vehicle. There were 41 passengers in the vehicle and rescue operation lasted for two hours.

The body was taken out from under the bus very late. The injured have been admitted to Adimali Taluk Hospital and a private hospital. The seriously injured student has been shifted to Kottayam Medical College.
