KOZHIKODE: A civil police officer, accused in a POCSO case, has been suspended from service. Kozhikode Rural SP suspended CPO Vinod Kumar of Kodenchery police station. A case was taken against him for sexually abusing his sisters.

Vinod Kumar is absconding. The girls’ mother lodged a complaint with the police stating that he had sexually abused them many times in the past two years. The complaint also mentioned that he had tried to sexually abuse his mother also. Kozhikode Koorachundu police have also registered a case on this complaint.

The police said that after recording the secret statements of the complainants, they will take further steps. Meantime, grade ASI T G Babu, who tried to abuse a survivor in the Ambalavayal POCSO case, is still absconding.
