NEW DELHI: The national awards for the year 2020 have been announced. Feature and non-feature films released in 2020 were considered for the awards. Aparna Balamurali has been adjudged the best actress for her stunning performance in Soorarai Pottru. Suriya will share the best actor award with Bollywood actor Ajay Devgan. Suriya also bagged the award for Soorarai Pottru. Biju Memon got the best supporting actor award for his role in Ayyappanum Koshyum. Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam, film written and directed by Senna Hegde has been adjudged the best Malayalam film. Special mention award for Vaanku.

The awards were announced by a jury led by its chairman Vipul Shaw.
