THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The IndiGo airlines has indirectly responded to LDF convener E P Jayarajan’s statement that he or his family members will never board IndiGo flights again. In a Facebook post IndiGo shared a picture with the caption “Up above the world so fly”.
IndiGo’s post shares a picture of a girl looking at an IndiGo flight flying over railway tracks. Jayarajan had said that IndiGo is a dirty airline and the company will be closed with the arrival of K Rail. IndiGo banned Jayarajan for three weeks for manhandling those who came to attack the Chief Minister in the flight. This was followed by Jayarajan’s response.
The Motor Vehicle Department has seized the bus of IndiGo airlines. Kozhikode RTO informed that the action was taken due to non-payment of tax for six months. The MVD officials have seized the low-floor bus used to transport passengers at the airport. The RTO took action when the bus was brought from Karipur Airport to the workshop at Feroke in Kozhikode for repair works.
IndiGo has to pay Rs 40,000 including fine and tax. The authorities clarified that the bus would be released only after paying the tax and fine. Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspectors D Sarath and GG Aloysius took the vehicle into custody on the instructions of Feroke Joint RTO Shaju Bakar.
Motor vehicle department officials explained that the action has nothing to do with the current political situation. “We were not able to seize the bus earlier as it was inside the airport. We were able to seize the bus today as it was brought outside the airport,” an official said. IndiGo had imposed a flying ban on LDF Convenor EP Jayarajan the other day. The company’s bus has been taken into custody by the motor vehicle department amidst this.
