CM is just a coward, arrest politically motivated; case will be dealt legally, says K S Sabarinathan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Youth Congress vice president K S Sabarinathan who was arrested sharply criticised the chief minister. He said the chief minister is a coward and will face the case legally. Sabarinathan responded to the media when he was brought to the General Hospital for medical examination. Sabarinathan was arrested on charges of conspiring against the chief minister on the aircraft.

‘Arresting me in a false case in the name of protests on the flight is part of the cowardice of the chief minister. I am not a terrorist; the arrest is politically motivated. There is no case against E P Jayarajan, who attacked the protestors on the plane. The police have registered a murder attempt case against me. This shows the chief minister’s cowardice. The Kerala Police is protecting the chief minister who is a coward. Sabarinathan said the case will be dealt legally and the party will face it politically.

Sabarinathan was shifted to the A R Camp after the medical examination. He will be produced in the court later today. The Thiruvananthapuram district court has sought a report from the government in connection with the time of arresting Sabarinathan. The government’s lawyer informed the court about the arrest of Sabarinathan when his anticipatory bail was considered. The government pleader informed that he has been arrested when the court verbally directed that steps should not be taken in the case.

Youth Congress state president Shafi Parambil MLA alleged that the government lawyer, who did not say anything when the court asked him not to arrest, informed about the arrest at 11.45 am. The Youth Congress national leadership alleged that Sabarinathan was arrested to avoid discussion on gold smuggling. The leaders also accused the CPM of becoming Modi’s B team.
