Thiruvananthapuram: The magistrate court here observed that the hate speech of PC George in Vennala in Kochi was a clear violation of the bail conditions.PC George was arrested in Kochi as the court cancelled his bail on Wednesday.
The former MLA, who was arrested on May 1 in relation to his controversial speech against Muslims at Ananthapuri Hindu Mahasabha ‘Mahasammelan’, obtained bail from the magistrate of Vanjiyoor court Asha Koshi on the same day. George was informed that he was granted bail under the conditions of not repeating any similar hate speeches or attempting to influence the witnesses in the case.
A week after, another case was registered against himby Palarivattom police on charges of hate speech over his remarks during a speech, which he delivered in connection with a temple festival at Vennala here on May 8.The Thiruvananthapuram magistrate court, while hearing the plea of the government to cancel the bail, stated that George violated the bail condition within ten days obtaining bail. It further stated that the Vennala speech is a continuation of the hate speech in Thiruvananthapuram.
The Kochi police had registered another case against George over the latest speech. He then went into hiding to avoid another arrest and a day ago, the Kerala High Court granted him anticipatory bail. However, it did not affect the case against him in the capital.
He is charged under Section 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race etc) and Section 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs)
