Thiruvananthapuram: An accused in a chain snatching case was killed after meeting with a bike accident at Naruvamoodu here on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Sajad. His accomplice was injured after their bike rammed into a car.
Sajad was killed on the spot. Amal, his accomplice, was rushed to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College for treatment.
Later, it was revealed that the duo was returning after snatching a woman’s chain in Tamil Nadu.
A case was already pending in Mangalapuram police station against the deceased. The youth snatched a gold chain of 10 sovereigns from a woman before escaping from the scene on his bike.
The police will take the statement of Sajad’s accomplice, Amal, from the hospital.
