Kannur: The CPM organisational report pointed out that the party grew only in Kerala in the years since the last Party Congress. The party is facing the biggest crisis since it was formed, noted the report.Policies accepted in the Party Congress shall be implemented without fail. All levels of the organisation shall work hard to attain it, the report presented by general secretary Sitaram Yechury said.Kerala has around 5.25 lakh members. The retention of power empowered the state faction further. But the situation in other parts of the country is poor. Once the forts of the party, Tripura and West Bengal are facing a tough time.The report also called for stringent opposition of the Hindutva agendas of BJP and RSS.
The report calls for forming Left electoral alliances in all states in six months after holding discussions with CPI. Actively participating in local issues, improving the quality of party members, updating conditions for membership renewal, bringing more youth and women to membership, and forming labour unions at the local level are some of the suggestions put forth in the report to revive the party.
The delegates will discuss the report in detail in the upcoming days. Yechury will reply to the suggestions of the members at the end and the conference will accept the report with or without amendments.
