Action against Sasi was not for sexual harassment, party will encourage if mistakes are corrected, says Kodiyeri

KOCHI: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said the inclusion of P Sasi in the state committee is not a wrong message. The party state conference decides who should be included in the party state committee. Action was taken against Sasi not for sexual harassment but for violating organisational principles. The party will encourage those correcting their mistakes.

When asked by the media about the non-inclusion of P Jayarajan, he replied that everyone cannot be included in the state secretariat. All above 75 have been dropped from the state committee. Instead they will be given other responsibilities. Kodiyeri explained that G Sudhakaran and James Mathew were dropped as per their request.

G Sudhakaran will continue in activities based on district. According to the party constitution, those not attending the state conference can be inducted into the state committee. Women leaders are included not by looking at the proportional representation of members. The party would discuss and approve the policy in six months and the workers should work within it, he said.
