Actor abduction case: Kerala HC allows two crucial prosecution pleas; new witnesses to take stand

Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Monday allowed a crucial plea of the prosecution in the actor abduction and sexual harassment case of 2017. It allowed two demands of the state that were rejected by the trial court.

The prosecution sought to examine 16 new witnesses in the case and also to present the original digital evidences for the trial. The HC accepted both the demands.

Though the court did not allow all 16 witnesses, the prosecution succeeded in convincing the court regarding some crucial ones. The court allowed 5 new witnesses besides the three already accepted by the trial court. The court also directed the state government to immediately appoint a new prosecutor within 10 days in the case.

The court also summoned to produce the mobile phone of actor Dileep along with others.
