‘Halal’ means fit for consumption; controversies resulted from Sangh Parivar agenda, says CM

Kannur: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has reacted to the Halal controversy. The word ‘Halal’ means fit for consumption. But it was a Sangh Parivar agenda to spread lies about the same, he added.‘Halal means things that do not cause any harm. But there are attempts to demean a particular community on the basis of this. Sangh Parivar is trying to divide the public all over the country. Some of such actions can be seen here as well,’ he stated. The growth of communal and religious forces has affected the renaissance movements among women. There are attempts to make them secondary citizens by trapping them in the customs of castes and communities, he said.
