No lockdown in Kerala; weekend mini lockdown, night curfew to continue

Thiruvananthapuram: The all-party meeting convened by the chief minister decided that complete lockdown need not be implemented in the state. The weekend mini lockdown and night curfew will continue.The shops will be allowed to operate till 7.30 pm. All political parties have accepted the suggestion to avoid celebrations on the counting day, May 2. Strict restrictions will be continued in the places where Covid transmission is intense.The district administrations can decide the regulations to be imposed in the districts, taluks and panchayats where pandemic transmission is extreme.It was decided in the meeting that the restrictions which have been imposed at present will be continued. If the transmission rate increases after a few days, the stricter restrictions can be introduced, they decided.

The political parties are of the opinion that the lockdown will affect the state’s financial condition and the public life. With this, the meeting decided not to implement complete lockdown.
