Thrissur: Minister VS Sunil Kumar has declared that Thrissur pooram will be conducted without fail this year. He asserted that officials would not be allowed to sabotage the government’s decision to conduct Pooram.

The minister added that the Pooram exhibition will also be conducted as per schedule.

“The government has considered the demands of the organising committees in a fair manner. There is no uncertainty over Pooram and exhibition at present. The government didn’t assign any official to cancel the exhibition. I have held talks with the additional secretary in this regard. The district collector has been asked to settle the issue by Sunday itself,” informed the minister.

At the same time, the minister dismissed rumours that only 200 people will be allowed to attend Thrissur Pooram.

He stated that all decisions relating to the Pooram will be taken after discussing with the organisers in view of the COVID-19 restrictions.

Sunil Kumar asserted that there is no confusion over conducting the Pooram exhibition.
