Thiruvananthapuram: RSS ideologue R Balashankar’s revelation about a secret deal between CPM and BJP in the upcoming assembly polls has been taken as a political weapon by parties. UDF has started moves to make it a heated discussion across the state.
Congress is attacking CPM and BJP alike stating what they have been saying has been confirmed by an RSS leader. UDF aims to attract minority votes by discussing BJP-CPM link. They have taken advantage of the situation and are using it in the campaign.
Meanwhile, the RSS and the CPM rejected the allegations of Balashankar. CPM criticised that Congress and BJP have made an agreement in the past and are continuing it. They highlight the decreasing vote share in Nemom seat in the previous election. Congress fielded K Muraleedharan in order to create an impression that they are fighting against BJP, CPM alleged.
R Balashankar made it clear that he stands firm on the statement and he is not stepping back from what he revealed. He added that he had visited RSS office and met the leaders when he came to contest the polls.Reacting to the controversy, union minister V Muraleedharan stated that he is not the authority in giving seats to all who wants to contest. Kerala unit has no role in decision making apart from holding discussions, he said.
Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala alleged that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan speaks about secularism after making deals with BJP. Gold smuggling case and Lavalin cases are not moving in right path because of this agreement, he said.
