Thrissur: It has been decided in a meeting held under the leadership of the chief secretary to conduct Thrissur Pooram without curbing the rituals and customs. However, several restrictions are imposed in order to ensure safety.
Covid protocol should be followed strictly. 15 tuskers will be used for procession. Fireworks and Pooram special displays also will be conducted normally. The number of stalls will be reduced to half. There should be a distance of 5 feet between two stalls.
Only 35,000 people will be allowed to enter the display. Inauguration of the display will be held between April 7 and 10. Display will continue till the middle of May. Rituals like Ilanjithara Melam, Kudamattam and Madathil Varavu will be conducted as usual.
