Govt exploring possibility of setting up industrial parks by China, PM leaving on 2 nation tour on Sunday

The Government is exploring the possibility of setting up industrial parks by China to attract greater Chinese investment. Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh said, the proposal given by Beijing is now under active consideration. She said, a Chinese team is now in India to discuss the proposal with Commerce and Industry Ministry. The Foreign Secretary said some states including Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat have shown their interest to set up such parks.

 


Referring to the Prime Minister’s forthcoming visit to China, Ms Singh said that several agreements are slated to be inked during the three-day visit.
Dr Singh is leaving on a two-nation tour to Russia and China on Sunday.

In the first leg of his visit, the Prime Minister will hold discussions with Russian leadership on expansion of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project apart from host of other issues. He will be reaching Bejing on 22 of this month
