Mani C Kappan announces new party ‘NCK’

Thiruvananthapuram: Pala MLA Mani C Kappan, who was ousted from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), has formed a new political party named Nationalist Congress Kerala (NCK). Mani C Kappan will be the new president while Babu Karthikeyan will serve as vice president of the new party.

Mani C Kappan said that they will go forward as a democratic party with a national perspective. Kappan also made it clear that he will join UDF only as an ally and that they have demanded three seats in the upcoming Assembly polls.

Mani C Kappan switched to UDF after the LDF denied him Pala constituency in the election. Following this, he was ousted from NCP.

Meanwhile, KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran and others had asked Kappan to join Congress. However, Mani C Kappan was firm on his stand that he would join UDF only as an ally and formed the new party.
