Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar today rejected the resignation of 13 MPs from Andhra Pradesh. These MPs had tendered their resignation opposing the bifurcation of the state.
According to a press release, the Speaker didn’t find resignation in proper format. The Constitutional provisions and rules of procedure and conduct of business in Lok Sabha stipulate that resignation should be in a proper format and a member doing so shall not give any reason for the resignation.
The members who had resigned include Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, M Rajamohan Reddy, Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, G V Harsha Kumar, V Aruna Kumar, A Sai Prathap and Sabbam Hari.
