New Delhi: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala has dismissed allegations over sharing of Chief Minister’s post with senior leader Oommen Chandy if UDF comes into power.
He criticised media for fabricating such fake news. The Congress leader reached New Delhi on Sunday for a meeting with the Congress High Command.
It was rumoured that Congress was considering Oommen Chandy for the post of CM along with Chennithala and that the duo would share the term equally. Responding to these rumours, Chennithala stated that the party was currently discussing arrangements for the polls.
“Many online media and others are circulating such unnecessary news. We didn’t discuss such a matter yet. Congress as well as UDF is a united group in Kerala. We aim to bring UDF into power by working together during the polls. We will move forward with our mission,” declared the Opposition leader.
Ramesh Chennithala pointed out that he arrived in New Delhi for talks with the High Command ahead of the polls.
“Such discussions are usually carried out during the polls. The meeting was delayed due to COVID-19. KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran, former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and I arrived Delhi for this meeting,” he added.
At the same time, he criticised the state government while responding to the irregularities in KSRTC alleged by its MD Biju Prabhakar.
“Kerala has never seen such a corrupted government. Huge scams are identified in all sectors. When the opposition reveals it, the government moves against us,” he added.
The Congress leader also declared solidarity with the farmers’ protest. He also reminded the central government that it has the responsibility to repeal the three laws which favour corporates.
