Australia beat India by 72 runs in first one-dayer at Pune

Australia beat India by 72 runs in the first cricket one-dayer at the MCA stadium in Pune last night. Electing to bat, the visitors piled up a mammoth 304 for eight relying on captain George Bailey’s 85 and Aaron Finch’s 72.

 


Chasing 305 for a win, India folded up for 232 in 49.4 overs. Australia has taken 1-0 lead in the seven-match ODI series.
For India, Virat Kohli was highest scorer with 61 from 85 balls, while Suresh Raina contributed a 45-ball 39.
The second ODI between the two sides will be played on Wednesday in Jaipur
