Opposition Leader VS Achuthanandan on Saturday filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking re-probe in the Palmolein case.

In the petition, Achuthanandan noted that the government’s decision to withdraw the case was part of a move to subvert the judicial process.

The CPI-M veteran also sought to dismiss the vigilance probe report giving clean chit to Chief Minister Ommen Chandy in the case.

The State government on September 24 had decided to approach the Thrissur Vigilance Court seeking the withdrawal of the palm oil import corruption case.
