22 killed, 16 injured as bus plunges into ravine in Thailand

In Thailand, at least 22 pepople were killed and 16 others injured when the bus in which they were travelling plunged into a ravine in the Lampang region, north of the country.

Police sources said most of the victims were pilgrims coming back home from a temple at the end of Buddhist Lent function. Most of those killed were women. Up to 26,000 people are killed in road accidents every year in Thailand.
