Usain Bolt regains world 100m-sprint title in World Athletics C’ship

Jamaican legend Usain Bolt regained his 100 metre sprint title at the 14th IAAF World Athletic Championships in Moscow yesterday.

Olympic champion, Bolt clocked a season’s best 9.77 seconds in heavy rain at the Luzhniki Stadium, with American Justin Gatlin claiming silver and Nesta Carter, also of Jamaica, taking bronze.

India’s KT Irfan was disqualified in the Men’s 20 Km Race Walk competition. Asian Games gold medallist Sudha Singh also failed to qualify for the Women’s 3000 metre steeple-chase final after finishing a disappointing 12th in her heat.
